BG-AWI012 American Militia in MPC coats (6) - Marching

Militia in Massachusetts Provincial Congress uniform issue.

These MPC coats were offered up as a 'bounty' for enlisting for a year in the militia starting 4 days after the fighting at Concord, MA and the MPC wanted to equip the volunteers who started to gather around Boston. The MPC coat (or "bounty coat") was made of brown wool with working pockets and no lapels. Coats were made by the towns the men were from and were then sent to the regiments they had enlisted. Over thirteen thousand coats had been made bythe end of December 1775.

Unpainted 28mm metal
