"Floating Castles"is a set of fast-play rules for naval actions set in the "ironclad period", or roughly between 1860 and 1885. The game requires no more than a handful of models and a minimum of terrain, but it can provide as much spectacle and excitement as any fight on land.
"Floating Castles" emphasizes maneuver and speed of play, rather than going into lots of technical detail about individual ships. The rules are therefore most suitable for fairly large fleet actions, and for an interesting game you will probably need at least four to six ships on either side - though the system can easily cope with many more, while still allowing a game to finish in an evening. Models of almost any scale can be used. All dice used in the game are D10s.
